My Daily Inspirations After Loss

In the first days after Quinn died, the book, “Healing Your Grieving Heart After Stillbirth: 100 Practical Ideas for Parents and Families” by Alan D. Wolfelt and Raelynn Maloney, validated my feelings and inspired me to very slowly put one foot in front of the other.  Now that I can do this and go about the daily activities of life, I am left with the emptiness of Quinn’s loss day after day.  There is such cruel repetition to grief.  It hangs on me every day in every moment.  After I wake from the peace of slumber, grief is always there, waiting for me.

How do I carry on living while bearing the heaviness of grief and holding my love for Quinn in my heart?  The book, “Healing After Loss: Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief” by Martha Whitmore Hickman has been my friend as I wake up and face the grief again and again, day in and day out.
Healing After Loss

I am very inspired by her words and I really want to drink them all up.  The book is a collection of brief thoughts that embrace you in your grief.  There is one thought for each day of the year.

To fully absorb her wisdom and to incorporate it into my life, I am posting my interpretation of each thought on my Pinterest page.  Some quotes and pins are my words and others I have borrowed.

This is how I will survive day after day as grief continues to show itself to me.

I'll update my sidebar slideshow titled "My Daily Inspirations" as I move through Hickman's meditations or follow me on Pinterest.  Below are my daily meditations to date:
